We understand that the various energy fields are intersecting and interacting with each other at any place on the earth. This is applicable to our small plot also. The cosmic energies are Geo-energies, magnetic energy etc., which are also acting on the earth. The scholars who knew astrology, were aware of the fact that there are exaltation or debilitation for planets. The planets will give their results accordingly. In a similar way, there are exaltation and debilitation for each direction also mentioned in vastushastra. The exaltation and debilitation depend on the paths of solar energy of the earth planet and the magnetic energy.

The morning sun rays have abundant positive energy which is quite useful to our body. But, the afternoon sun rays have negative energy which is not so useful to the body and we get easily tired when compared to the morning sunrays. Vastu Purusha takes his breath from north east direction. The energy received from northeast direction is carried to south west direction and are to be stored. The northeast serves as the positive pole ( + ) and southwest as the negative pole ( - ) of the earth’s magnetism. Therefore, we should construct a building such that the northeast sides have more wide openings and south west sides have less or small openings only. The vaasthu shastra says the north east corner as Exalted and south west corner as debilitated ones. The sides through which the energy travels is called as Exalted direction. The receiving side or opposite side to the energy path is called as debilitated side.

The Divine idea behind this one is to get the positive energy to the maximum and to store the same as far as possible. This will serve as a positive force to development. Such type of research or findings are not available in old literature. But, so many vastu books in present days clearly explains about good or bad plots and their impacts on the house occupants / owners. This is more practical and results can be seen in any house. This is also scientifically proved. The Magnitude and concentration of the Earth’s magnetic forces or field decide the life of all living things on the Earth. We saw earlier that AIR, FIRE, WATER, EARTH AND AKASH are the FIVE ELEMENTS OR PANCHABHOOTHAS which control our life. The change of the magnetic energy will automatically change the functions of the five bhoothas and our mental attitude, emotions, way of living etc., will be changed accordingly. If we open the Uchcha by means of windows doors etc., and close the Neecha sides by providing small openings, we could receive and keep the energies within our building for a longer period. These openings facilitate the presence of various positive energies always in the house. These energies are very important for our happy domestic life. So the main entrance and the inmates movements should be always in the Uchcha or exalted side. We can easily get success in our business and trade and have a happy family etc. we will have a happy mood when we are entering our house itself. It it is otherwise, there will be quarrels, family problems worries, etc., inside the house. One will be reluctant or have aversion to enter his own house.

Vastu Shastra for Plots | Sites :

The major factors to be kept in mind while selecting the plots are : Geographical surrondings, Level of the land and Roads around the plot. You have carefully observe that, is there any street focus to the plot or not. No problem with some street focuses, but care should be taken on some bad street focuses. We earn money and spend it, but we cannot earn our good life back. So Cautious first, then purchase the plot. Square and rectangular sites are the preferred sites. As our Saints and Rushis expressed that Vastu Purusha fits in perfectly in a square and the body parts of Vastu Purusha fit in well in a square or rectangular structures or plots. Vastu Shastra advocates balance, symmetry and harmony in construction.

In commercial Vastu, especially for big layouts or for industrial plots, it has been seen that reclaimed land or agricultural land or site is developed and allotted. More often than not there plots are of irregular shapes with inauspicious reductions and extensions. Any cut in any of the corners is inauspicious as some or the other body part of vastu Purush gets chopped off. Although Northeast has been given the most important position by all classical and modern scholars of vaastu, all the other angles are of equal importance.

We know that each small nerve, smallest of body parts and minute cells are essential for proper functioning of human body and a disorder in any of them cause great discomfort, unease and trauma. Plots which have natural extensions towards the northeast are very auspicious leading to all round prosperity and health. No rectifications are needed in these cases. A Cut or reduction in the northeast is worst. It adversely affects prosperity, growth and happiness of the owners. As far as possible, rectify any irregular shapes or cuts in the corners of the plot and make the plot of land square or rectangular. To minimize the bad effects it is recommended to rectify the site by constructing a wall of 3 feet height so that the site has a square or rectangular shape. The cut-off portion can be utilized for a separate shop, showroom or godown depending on the direction and requirements”.

Please note that some of the scholars expressed their own views, now we have a look on the plots which are the good and which are giving bad results. According to Vastu Shastra square or rectangular plots are considered best for residential or commercial purposes. But in actual practice we find the plot shapes to be irregular more often than not. The effects of plots extended in different directions or reductions in some corners is of prime concern. Care should also be undertaken while carrying out extensions in an already constructed property. It has been observed that very bad results accrue to the owner after purchase of additional plot of land in the south, west or south-west of the existing property. As a general rule, avoid buying land or carrying out extensions in the south, west, south-west, south-east or north-west of your site. Buy any land which is on the north, east, or north-east of your property. Only sites which have extensions/growth towards north-east are auspicious. This rule is valid for any naturally extended plots buying additional adjacent land and extensions carried out in existing built-up structures.
